Egg Yarns

Egg patterns are devastatingly effective for trout and salmon, particularly in rivers during and after spawning season when fish are keyed in on loose eggs drifting in the current. Egg yarn makes tying these simple but deadly patterns quick and easy.

• McFly Foam & egg yarn — the standard material for tying egg flies in all sizes
• Sucker spawn yarn — for cluster egg imitations
• UV egg yarn — for added visibility and attraction in coloured water
• Natural & fluorescent colours — peach, orange, pink, chartreuse and more

Tie simple single eggs, double eggs or cluster patterns on a jig or nymph hook. Fish them dead drift under an indicator or on a tight line — few patterns are more effective when the fish are on eggs.
