Tiemco Tmc Adjustable Double-Arm Bobbin Holder
This is a premium ceramic-tube bobbin with double spring arms and a thumb-wheel tension adjuster. Built for smooth thread delivery, fine tension control, and durability at the vice.
Key Features
Adjustable tension: Knurled wheel lets you dial pressure on the spool precisely—no bending arms by hand.
Double-arm frame: Holds standard spools square and stable; consistent feed as the spool empties.
Ceramic tube: Ultra-smooth thread path that minimizes fray/breaks with GSP, gel-spun, or fine 14/16/18/20 denier threads.
Balanced feel: Comfortable reach with good tip visibility for whip finishes and close work.
Swap-friendly: Works with most standard 7–8.5 mm fly-tying spools (Semperfli, UTC, Uni, Veevus, Tiemco, etc.).
Why Choose It?
Repeatable tension: Set it once for a given thread and come back to the same feel later.
Fragile-thread friendly: Ceramic tube + controlled drag = fewer snap-offs with fine or flat threads.
Less hand fatigue: Smooth feed means less pinching/palming of the spool.
Quick Setup & Adjustment Guide
Load the spool between the two arms (labels out).
Thread the tube: use a threader or suck/pull from the tip.
Set baseline: back off the wheel so the spool turns freely, then tighten until the bobbin will hold the bobbin’s weight without slipping when hanging.
Fine-tune: add a touch more tension for slick threads (GSP/gel-spun) or back off for fluffy dubbing loops.
Tips For Use
For GSP/gel-spun/ Nano Silk: run slightly higher tension and keep the tube clean; it’ll stay buttery and controlled.
For flat nylon/silk: reduce tension to keep the thread flat and avoid cord-up.
When starting/stopping: park the bobbin on a cradle or let it hang to maintain even twist.
